and said, "wow, these beds are really pretty!"....but then we pulled the comforters off and put on our own that we brought from home b/c these may look clean in the pictures, but believe me, they don't close up.

this weekend was....
our Fall Retreat.
It was very relaxing for SOME people.....
I wonder how many of these kind of retreats/conferences i've been on since i've been involved with Campus Crusade for Conferences, I mean Christ. I know i attend 5-6 a year and Miles about 7-8 (but that's not counting his trips overseas). So, it's a lot basically. Especially when you have to pack up the family. The girls LOVE it. When we got there this time they said things like...."I want to stay here forever"....or "why do we only stay 2 nights? let's stay 4" and when we walked into our cabin which looked like this, they went over and looked at these beds

It's a beautiful camp though and the weather was perfect. No hurricanes this weekend thankfully. If it had been raining it would have been hard for the 250 something students to stay packed into the buildings, b/c this is what they looked like when they lined up to eat....
Sadie went on a canoe ride with Miles. Camryn wouldn't go b/c she didn't want to wear a life-vest.

One thing I love about retreats is the chance to get to know some students better and I really appreciate when they play with my kids or offer to hold Hudson and give my arms a break. I'm always amazed at how mature and thoughtful a lot of them are and i'm thankful for how my kids get to be influenced by college students who are walking with God and choosing to spend the weekend at a retreat like this. I'm sure it is having a positive impact on my kids that one day I will see and understand better. Then it will feel like it was worth it to pack up the car all those times.....

Oh, what fun memories!
P.S. I always bring my own comforter too and pay the price by being harrassed by my fellow staff.
Are you kidding me? This is Philip Wilson. How's it going? I'm at work right now, so can't really pour over your blog, but it looks like things are going well. I see you have three kids. That's crazy! I have three too - Aidan (7), Nadia (5), and Brendan (2)!
