here's hudson's latest trick. he goes from lying on his back to his tummy and then sits up. he's crawling a little too. he is easy to entertain now b/c he likes to play on the floor with toys and scoot around.
last night we had some new friends over. one of them grew up in Birmingham and they went to school at Samford and Montevallo. that was a fun surprise to realize we know some of the same people b/c we went to school in the same state. anyways, i made this chocolate chip cheesecake which i've made a few times. 
cooking for me is sometimes fun, but usually i get stressed and exhausted by it. there are a FEW things i make well, but frankly i'd rather eat at a good restaurant, or see a good movie than cook. BUT, since i try to stay near my southern roots i have to at least try sometimes. I think today people like me want things quick, however, cooking good food takes time and patience. My grandmothers probably had more time to cook since they didn't have the internet to suck their time away. So, i decided to take a picture of it b/c my friend Blake gave me the idea b/c she often takes pictures of food that she or her husband cooks or of food at restaurants if it's a special occasion like an anniversary. I like that idea b/c it helps me remember the night and who I was with and what was special about the evening.
and we get lots of laughs out of h. when he swings. i need to video that as well

Thanks Emme, for sending a gramma flick! It made my day to see Hudson, Camryn, and Sadie! I can't wait to see you all, we don't have plane reservations for October yet...hope it works out!
