But right next door to us are some older Korean Americans. They are about the nicest people you will ever meet. They don't speak a lot of English, so sometimes I misunderstand what they are saying. The husband was recently in the hospital and was very sick. The day the wife told me that his kidneys were failing i also thought she told me that he was about to die, so i told a few neighbors about it, but then a week later he came home from the hospital. The wife is really honest about what she's thinking. She often tells me what a hard worker Miles is when she sees him outside working on the house. He does work very hard and sometimes I think he does what about 10 normal guys could do in a day. But for my neighbor, this reminds her that her son-in-law is not like that and she tells me "he so lazy."
And then there was the time (before I got pregnant) that she looked at my stomach and asked...
"You pregnant?"
Me: "no"
"Oh, you look pregnant"
Her daughter: "Mom!! You don't say that!!"
"well, she looks like pregnant"
Luckily, i did get pregnant soon after that....
She takes care of her 2 grandchildren after school. Aiden is 4 and he comes over to play in our yard everyday lately. He's a sweet kid and says really funny things. Yesterday he came in and said "i just went swimming and I had diarrhea at the pool but now i'm not sick anymore" then he just started hopping on one foot and said...."want to see me hop on one foot?" Here he is playing with us in the back yard.
