Bloggles

After about a week or so goes by without posting anything, I start to feel guilty for not putting anything on here for the 5 of you who check my blog regularly. But see, the problem is that i'm not a writer, so I have a hard time taking everyday things and making them interesting or funny. When people first start a blog they see every slightly interesting thing that happens to them as blog worthy b/c as I say they are still wearing their "bloggles."

Well, I haven't been seeing life though bloggles for several months now. And, the worst thing is that I almost always think of something when i'm lying in bed at night to write about but I just can't seem to remember it being that great by the time I wake up in the morning.

Today, however, I was thinking of some of my favorite things about life here. We have lived here almost 6 years and it's starting to feel like a long time.
So, here is a list of my favorite things......like...
1. Coffee shop: Cafe Driade or Open Eye Cafe, however, have I mentioned that Miles now roasts his own espresso beans? So, currently the lattes at our house are really good. And you all know that we are coffee snobs right?
2. Grocery Store: Trader Joes
3. Easy thing to eat for lunch: Trader Joes shredded beef burritos
4. Place to eat breakfast: Elmos
5. Place to eat breakfast or lunch outside: Guglhupf (German Bakery)
6. Late night snack: bowl of cereal
7. Thing that S said this week: When C walked over to her at a party, she said: "Hey pretty girl"
8. Chocolate: Dark chocolate espresso truffles bars
9. Hobby: taking pictures with my new camera which i don't really know how to use yet
10. Season: summer, thank goodness it's here
11. Shoes: Flip Flops (current favorite are my Chaco flip flops I got for my birthday)...goodbye Rainbows
12. T.V. Shows: Lost, The Office, Brothers and Sisters
13. Reality T.V. Shows: Survivor and Amazing Race

Okay, on to other things I'm thinking about today....
This past week was the last one for campus stuff. Now students will be taking finals. We had so many events to go to that we hardly ate a meal at home. We had a senior dinner, a junior dessert, dinner with the servant team, dinner with the graduating student interns, end of the year picnic, etc.....and a party at our house for Chad who is moving and a breakfast today for Ashley who is also moving and will no longer be on our team. sad....
Well, considering how sleep deprived I am today it's amazing I was able to think clearly enough to write this. And the girls are singing princess songs very loudly behind me now. I think the last 2 nights my sleep might have totalled one nights worth of sleep. Maybe.

But one more thing, anyone watch Survivor? If not, then read no further.....
if you do however, were you so glad to see Ozzy go, the week before last? And as soon as his name was called, I predicted that when it's his turn to talk to the finalist on the last episode, that he will be so mad and mean to Parvati, if she's in the final 3, but I guess that won't happen. Then, when he said his final words, it was soooo him to say he hates whoever did that to him. Ozzy is undoubtedly the best physical player Survivor has ever seen, but he just never figured out the game socially like he thought he did.
Okay, enough about that, and i'm not sure why I was thinking about that today.....
I better sign off before this gets any more weird. It's the sleep deprivation.

This was a great train of thought post. Completely entertaining in its normalcy.
Survivor: James is a STUD and could possibly be beating out Colby as my favorite Survivor ever.
Trader Joe's: Will have to try those burritos. I also have to stock up on groceries there for the summer. Cheap and good. Wish I could cart their cheap milk to G-burg.
Enjoy a party-free few days!

kristin,
glad to know another survivor fan!!
i agree with what you said!
G-burg again? hmmmm. that makes me think of airbrushed t-shirts, large belt buckles, Ripley's Beilieve it or Not museum, salt water taffy, and skiing on fake snow in the winter. Can you tell i spent a few vacations there as a kid?

Emme, that is very impressive! We try to stick to the national park and the international students. Ahhh... cannot wait to get myself in those woods! (those words rarely come out of my mouth but it is such a contrast to the "strip" that I long for time in the park).
I still think it is hysterical that they have so much salt water taffy and there is no saltwater within 7 hours of the place!
