Easter Week

Family picture at the neighborhood Easter Egg hunt today.....
Hudson hunting eggs.....see all the eggs in the grass? they make it easy for the little ones.....

I have very fond memories of playing Little People with my good friend and neighbor J. when I was growing up. We would play them for hours, naming them and designing houses and furniture for them with blocks or boxes or whatever was around in her playroom.
Sadie has been playing with her Little People since she was one I guess. She can still sit down all by herself and play with them for about an hour. I know the day will come when she gets too old for them or tired of them.....but for now she still loves to line them up and tell them what to do. Some kids are better than others at imaginary play, and have no problem acting out scenarios and being the voice of more than one person. When I play with her she wants me to be 2 or 3 people at once. Camryn has never really played like this by herself. She wants someone else there acting out the scene with her. But Sadie is like a puppet master.....telling everyone what to do. Lately Sadie has felt sad that she can't paint and draw as well as Camryn. I wish I could help her better understand what a big imagination she has and how creative and fascinating it is.
Can you find Sadie in this picture?

This morning Sadie and Hudson were in the neighborhood Easter parade. Here they are watching the fire truck as it gets ready to lead the parade.....

Sadie rode her bike the whole way.....with training wheels.

Um, I didn't even know there were Easter parades. I like the Little People picture particularly. We're getting close to bringing them out of the garage again. They got abandoned a couple of years ago. Yesterday, Z. removed all the Barbie horses from her room. There's a little sadness to growing up!
