Princesses, blue fire trucks and Mother's Day

Camryn has gone through several phases of things she is into....babies, polly pockets, princesses, barbies, stuffed animals, etc. I remember a few months ago, i was so exhausted of playing princesses with her. She lived in another world in her mind where she was constantly a princess and she wanted me or anyone who would play with her to be a prince. She would want to act out a scenario where she was running away or sad or hurt and needed to be rescued by the prince. She could do this over and over and never get tired of it. I read about 3-4 year old girls and how they learn gender roles and when they figure it out they cling onto whatever they think is the ultimate role model of their gender which in Camryn's case was a princess. Now she plays with babies all day. She is a perfect little mommy to them. Sadie spends a good bit of time just doing whatever Camryn does. But while Camryn was still in the princess stage Sadie was already into babies. She too is an excellent mommy and changes a pretty good diaper. She holds her baby and tells it things like "it's okay" and "i need to change you now" and she gives them a time out when they are bad. Both Camryn and Sadie take their babies everywhere they go. I've recently had friends who have had new babies. I think this is why it's their favorite thing to play right now. So, we had 3 mothers in our house this mother's day.

Sadie thinks every big truck she sees is a "bire truck" or fire truck. In Chapel Hill we have blue ones and we see them a lot parked at restaurants and grocery stores. I guess the fire fighters eat a lot which is good i guess b/c that must mean there aren't many fires to put out.
